As promised in the introduce yourselves thread, here are some photos of our as-yet-unnamed SuperViking. We've had him for four days now and honestly we couldn't have got a better conversion for us. The thing is huge inside! Now to find some decent welders, mechanics and painters in Kent. And how about a thermal image showing where the main heat leakage is?? (Flir One camera) Good to have finally got one after all these years.
Flir One camera. It's an iphone/ipad add-on. Bought it to properly upgrade the insulation in the house....and found other uses for it too!
Ah wow, that's cool. Might check my bus out! Will tell me (confirm to me!) what windows seals are perished.
Sevenoaks. It is a really solid camper, interior, exterior and underneath. There are still a few things that need to be done - driver side arch replaced, bits in the engine bay, some bubbles here and there. But nothing huge - I'm really lucky to have found this for sure. You in Kent then? I live here but also have family near Portsmouth so it'll be there quite a lot - wont it @davidoft !!
Very quickly in my hunt, I realised that actually you get what you're given in terms of colour.....that took a while to get agreed by the entire family that's for sure.
True. And to think I had only heard of Vikings in passing. Love Westy's too but this just seems to work.....but hang on...we've yet to get exploring yet. I'll report back after a few trips!
Do you mean the modern VW garage - Beadles? - we have used them for the Touran in the past. Not sure I'd go there for my bay!
It might not - it didn't quite show what I was expecting to be honest. However the plan is to crank up the space heater from cold and do an external time-lapse to see what areas leak first. In all honesty though - its got a bloody great big tent up top - that's going to be leakier than a sieve so there's only so much its worth doing. I think I will do some insulation if I strip it back - but mainly for noise, not heat.
Lovely, v reg 79 like my double top Moonraker, best and only year for real camping campers on the t2 uk wise. Party in the roof
