Changed the fuel filler elbow and found a 5mm split in it. Probably reponsible for a smell after filling ip.
Changed all the breather connections in the engine bay using 5.5 mm fuel injection hose. In the end they all went on although I was bleeding.

Changed the primary main and primary air on the carb to see if it was going to make a difference.

When I turned the carb over yellow oily stuff not petrol came out of the primary air jet and emulsion stack and out the primary main along with petrol..... strange ....

Decided to check over where I got to with the K-jetronic FI back in March before I had to rebuild an engine instead.
Found all the bits were still in the box.

    Cleaned the bus.

Went for a drive and an ice cream at Weston Shore. The queue at the ice cream van in front of us evaporated when the guy selling the ice cream refused to tell a customer which was his cheapest ice cream. He told him to read the prices on the side if the van. About three families and a million kids walked off in solidarity. No wait for us..

    Cheers @pkrboo

I checked that this morning and was still flummoxed, then noticed an awning clamp had slipped and was getting caught :(. Fortunately the door shut before we had a storm :)

My friend in her van said she could hear me cursing last night and nearly shouted "there's something stuck in it you muppet" as I was obviously trying continuously oblivious to the fact it wasn't working  I believe alcohol to be a factor!!

  5. And awning zips and toggles:oops:

    Yes basically.

Tip van to left with a camping leveller wedge ramp stops tank emptying all over.you.

    Disconnect battery
    remove air cleaner

    Paint tin lid off
    Undo first jubilee clip
Persuade hose to come off metal elbow at arms length with one hand
Find and remove four selftappers.round filler
    Pull off metal cover plate
    Push rubber flange inside hole
Collect pipe and rubber elbow where it has fallen down inside
    Remove second jubilee clip .

Remember to recheck after a few trips and nip the jubilee clip up. I found the rubber softened off a bit once in use and started to weep a bit of fuel

Been at VW action all weekend... Left just before the rain yesterday so a good weekend!! First time my brother and I had the Coleman event shelter with both vans which made for a great communal set up!

Travelling back to the south cost today via London to collect my interior furniture... I'd like to say I hope the rain holds off but the chances are slim at best!! At least I'll have the windows shut so I can't hear the fan belt slipping on the powder coated fan pulley!!
