does this have a locking system so you can lift it up to use the storage under the bed or will I have to just put up with it? am sure I seen a photo with this up showing the storage and it didn't look like anything was supporting it. Any help and advice is always interesting
Mine stays up on the "rock" part of the action so you can access storage. A little tilt back encourages the roll. Maybe your little metal arm/peg things that lock the mech are a bit worn? The later Berlins/Campmobiles etc had a little arm on the LHS that rested on a rubber bung on one of the hinge screws. Maybe you could cobble something up..
My earlier 3/4 bed has a piece of wood screwed in which turns and holds the bed up for easier access ... if you need a photo
Ours won't stay up so I've got a section of tent pole which I just use as a prop if we need both hands.
NLAVW sell a replica of this part at not an inconsiderable price it's in their interior section as rock n roll seat support, sorry don't know how to do link, but easy enough to find and it well let you see what was used originally.
Here you go. To make one of these has been on my mental 'to do' list for a while. Today might be the day! http://nlavw.com/gb/interior/373-rock-and-roll-seat-support.html
Sorted. Random metal bar from unknown source + longer bolt + washers + nyloc = job done! Cost = free Time taken = 5 minutes (including straightening the bar and blowing cobwebs off it) Necessity is the mother of invention (@Pickles I found the metal bar before I found some suitable wood)
