I reckon rick ought to audition. It's open to the Punic according to the ginger one! We all f hate Leeds btw.
Women as presenters on car shows is just plain wrong. I'm off to hide in my secret bunker before the Sisterhood sees this comment.
Yep, yer right about GM. Although Fred Dibnah would've made an excellent Clarkson replacement, I reckon...
I agree. The whole family were avid watchers for many years but towards the end it was just getting dull. We went to top gear live about 10 years ago at the NEC and that was great. We paid about 200quid a few months ago to watch them at the echo arena in liverpool and they looked bored SH!tless and just going through the motions. Chris evans is a massive petrolhead so it will hopefully bring new life into the show.
Chris Evans is a massive Richardhead that's for sure. Got his head so far up his rear turret he can see his own earwax. As I said before, the clock is ticking until it becomes another massive ego massager for him, or TFITG as it will probably be known. Sorry but I simply cannot stomach the man.
He was like that about 15 years ago. Making it and losing it all a few times sorted him right out. Top bloke imho.
Surely innocent until proven... Give it a chance, be part of the record audience for the first show and be open minded! You might be surprised
Let's just say that I'm not holding my breath, my finger will be hovering over the OFF button of the remote control. Still, May's getting a new show, all be it a very small one of two 90 minute episodes called Making Cars Live. so that might be interesting. He'll be joined by ex TG presenter Kate Humble and For The Love Of Cars co- presenter Ant Anstead. http://tv.bt.com/tv/tv-news/james-m...show-with-two-other-presenters-11363987635808
Evens will do a good job but I do find him a bit to bouncy/upbeat. A few less stupid stunts will be welcome. Some meaningful reviews/tests not just the latest super car. Wonder if they'll do a live show from his car event weekend he has ?
Agree totally. He thought he was untouchable when he was at Radio 1, a right arrogant bar steward. The intervening years have sorted him out, plus he's the first to admit he was a k-nob back then. Love his R2 show, he is unbelievably, supernaturally, chipper every day, and for that alone I salute him
"Original" Top Gear was a regional car review programme produced by BBC Birmingham. It's been revamped several times now - the only thing "original" about it now is the name, which the BBC seemed to have kept alive as the one to use for 'the' car show they have on the beeb. I'm fairly philosophical about all of this - as far as I can see, as a result of all this we will have more car programmes. TG is being 're-booted' again after the departure of Jezza and co, and they will no doubt have their own show somewhere too (probably Netflix) so that's one extra car programme. Also, smelling possible opportunities, one of the commercial broadcasters might decide to try and capitalise on the possible demise of Top Gear by bringing out a rival car show to capture the ratings (I know if I worked for one of the other broadcasters, I'd be pitching the idea now) so that could be another car show. More car shows on TV? What kind of petrolhead DOESN'T want more car shows???? As for presenters - I like the suggestion of Lisa Riley. She'd do a better job than Woodentop Kidd, and isn't annoying like Suzi Perry or Vikki Butler-Henderson (am I the only person who doesn't find her even remotely attractive??). EDIT: of course I mean Lisa Rodgers. I blame old age.
