I chose the title not the date. That was a committed decision!

    Sorry meant ' committee ' , I think?

 Well, that's £25 quid I'll never see again.

Terribly sorry sir but it's in the rules, any cancellation within 28 days of arrival and we keep your money.

No, I'd LOVE to help you........but I can't it's against the law and I can't just give you a credit note for camping later in the year unless you know the date you want right now.

So, enjoy my £25 Hayfield camping and Caravanning club and I hope it chokes you.

Thank you, I found myself becoming very irritated with her condescension and "it's company policy" comments. Apparently the C&CC have introduced a policy where every campsite should demand a deposit and if you cancel inside 30 working days you forfeit the money.
I tried telephoning their customer service desk this morning and all I got was a recorded message telling me they will try to get back to me within 2 working days.
Don't think I'll renew membership to a club who look after the campsites rather than the members.

Have you tried calling your credit card company and asking them to get you the refund..obviously tricking them into getting it for you first

Well it's my fault so I don't think I have any right to have the money back, it's just the smug attitude and she wouldn't entertain sticking a credit note against my name for me to use some time in the future.

I must be becoming a grumpy old man as I'm getting more and more fed up with businesses who operate a me me me policy, (aka tough luck sucker).

My annoyance pales into insignificance when you consider how Thomas Cook have treated the parents of Christi and Bobby who died on holiday in Corfu.
The Chief Executive (aka pathetic little sh1t) has even refused to apologise. Probably scared it might cost him some money.

That sounds about right for a Corporate Exec, they seem to be exempt from apology!

Yes, but why? Why can't you run a successful business and have a moral compass as well.

greed and profit, sadly..once they have your money, that's it!! Its a sad state of affairs but that appears to be the norm!
