Well my interior is out and the cargo floor needs some attention, not a huge amount but some sanding back type work and some grommet acquisition. It has been wire wheeled and all the crumbly metal removed, back to solid metal but not shiny metal? Does this matter or should I go back at it until I get shiny metal with various grit sanding pads? Are there any welding seams that I should be re-applying seam sealer to while I am sorting the floor out? The idea is to flat back the whole floor and then paint it with two coats of Rustoleum, probably using a roller. I want to do the best job possible without getting the entire floor back to bare metal.

provided you've managed to get the worst of the corrosion off with the wire wheel/whatever, you could stabilize any left with Jenolite, and then paint over the top with your rustoleum (make sure the two are compatible first)...if it's well sealed with paint it should be good for a few years
