  1. Good news when can we see some pics??

  2. Best of luck with the van, we find the Berlin very practical with the two kids, don't forget to get a portable toilet, essential with small kids IMO.

  3. whilst i'd agree a berlin is cool, i've never found the need for a portable toilet tbh. Wee wees = hedge, anything more i woudnt want going on inside the bus :)

  4. I always thought that. With toilets in the buddy seat what happns if you need a number 2..you have to chuck everyone out in the rain and draw the curtains ...its hardly a spectator sport.

  5. I don't think I would have the toilet in the bus, but definitely have one in the awning. My toddlers have no concept of how long it takes to get to the toilet, all the notice we get is when one of them shouts "I NEED A POO!!!!!!".

  6. I will definitely take some photos tomorrow when I pick it up. Sorting out insurance and breakdown cover today. Breakdown is quite expensive, does anyone know of any deals going on?

  9. Thanks I will have a chat with them today.

  10. Will my free AA cover on any vehicle Im in through the halifax bank cover our vw?

  11. I checked the policy provided by Lloyds and there's no mention of age restriction - but it would be as well to check the small print!

  12. Breakdown cover seems expensive until you need it, then it's worth every penny. Especially if you've got the whole family aboard.

    I doth speaketh from experience!:(

  13. Just got insurance through Cherished including the breakdown cover as it covered getting you home when on hols etc.

Any tips on how to drive these buses? This will be a first for me.

  14. Slowly with a big grin!
Don't accept realy bad steering/handling/gear change as par for the course these can be fixed maybe not to modern standards but still it shouldn't be that bad.

    Enjoy

When you see 'SLOW' written in the road, that means YOU, if you are driving a T2 Bus!
They don't go round corners like a modern saloon car.

  16. After 6 weeks of driving one you end up with arms like schwarzenegger while the rest of you turns a funny shape.

Check the small print. Most of these "freebies" from banks only recover you 10 miles.
    Useless in most situations.

  18. I'll vouch for that - MrsCunny shouts Slow Down on corners when we are at 20mph!

  19. @Fil6 I would check the breakdown cover to see when it starts. Some companies have no call outs in the first 48 hours. Also have a look on quidco as you can get some money back in the future.

  20. Thanks, the guy on the phone said it started the day of the insurance, failing that I have cover with bank account as well, the bus is only 20 miles away, so in the worst case I should be able to get it home using one of those two.

The bank cover only takes me to a service centre or home which ever is closest.
