Thinking of viewing a bus, got some pics....

  1. Ok, so I've been in contact with a guy selling a bus, but would like your opinions on the photos he has sent through of the underneath and rust areas before I make an appointment. Is it in good condition?? Are there any areas of concern??

    The underneath....

    How much is it?

That doesn't count as proper rust ;)

  8. Thanks guys! It's on the market for 17k, it was imported from US a couple of years ago. The rest of it looks immaculate from the photos.

  9. @pkrboo , yea they are the same. I hope I don't have to do the amount of work you had to though. Great renovation btw. Loved reading your bus post.

  10. Bite his hand off....:D

  11. Go for it. Bet it has a berlin inside (going by the sink outlet underneath), The track rod rubbers look new, and all looks correct underneath. Just have fun and attend the little bits of surface rust later. Mine is a American import 76 model (3 years ago) only real trouble I've had is the electrics, so check all lights, charging circuits and stick your nose by the rear air intakes, if you smell petrol the small rubber petrol pipe connection for the tank evaporation tubes could need replacing (its behind the spare wheel well on the blind side, easy to do if you remove the left light cluster first) Take a small magnet with you and check all body/underneath areas for filler. Good luck its camping time already!

So the fresh Shutz sprayed randomly across the underneath on a £17k bus is quite normal?

I'll go with it looking nice, but I'd want perfect for that money...or is £17k condition B money now?

17k seems a lot to me, but with the bits of rust, if they're basically superficial, should give you some room to drive a hard bargain. Good luck.

    Where is it?

  19. I know what you are saying, 17k is what it is up for, I think it was up for 18k not so long ago, I don't think I would pay 17k for it, as there are certain elements that are not original, such as the sink and hob, along with the rust.

How much do you think this type of bus is worth, granted the limited photos is not much to go on. I was thinking somewhere around 15k?
