Don't forget the "how to" that you were going to do (as agreed at 01.00 in the bar). I think we can vote to get it stickied! :)

Looks like the alternator might be knackered (or I might have disturbed the charging circuit - I doubt it given my engineering prowess :))

Swapped the battery out and got it home...there's a chance the alternators been not working for a while as I tend to do short trips and put it on smart charger between.

Time to dig out spare alternator from spare engine

And check me Edward Scicssorhands action under the dash didn't scupper it.

  9. Had a really good weekend, it was great to meet to meet you all. Special thanks to @Lasty who trained me in the art of setting up my points and getting the timing right!

I said I would feed back if my engine had anymore oomph which I am please to say it has. Without any real effort I reached 65mph at one point but eased off as I didnt want to stress my engine too much. Also, the removal of the metal piece under the accelerator pedal gave me a lot more acceleration too. My bus actually seemed quick enough to keep up with the traffic. (I even overtook an old couple in a Volvo on the dual carriageway through Tamworth).

Thank you @rickyrooo1 for you efforts - great job!

Good weekend. Well done Rick. Great to see you all as usual. I am now taking a rest after a weekend of guided tours around the van.

  14. That`s about right - well done !!
I quite enjoyed `messing` - haven`t had to set points for years due to purchase of a petronix leccy job so it was a refresher for me too .
Great to meet you , nice van with a good story - i like that ....

  18. Teriffic weekend , nice one @rickyrooo1 and anyone who helped sort things out .
Great to meet everyone and put names to faces
Special mention to @SkutterBob for heroically tackling the rear donuts ! I quite enjoyed helping out because since moving to `that London` i have nowhere to work on the van therefore nowhere to make noise and hit stuff - never realised i missed it !!
Thanks for replacing my linkage whilst i sorted out the leisure battery - all good :D

As i said , top weekend with good atmosphere and helpful people - topped off with the coolest bar on ANY campsite :D
