Discussion in 'Late Bay Classifieds' started by Planty, Jan 29, 2015.

  1. Does such a beast exist?

Getting miffed at getting outbid on the old t'eBay last minute so just raising a general question.

Looking for something bay shaped to play with - anything considered be it abandoned project, used up parts breaker, rusty collander etc... Pref not accident damage tho I'm no body shop pro so ain't nobody got time for that!

What have you lovely people got hiding out there?

  2. Think you will find you need to be nearer £5k

  3. Sub £1000 you would need to be a bodyshop pro and have bodyshop pro mates to help!

thing is, you'll buy a complete Marmiteter for a grand and spend 5 in doing it up to a Marmite standard..... i'll ask, why? get around 5grand and cut out the time, keep your wife and keep your hair.

  8. This is a hobby for when I need to avoid the wife!

  9. Like it :D

I would be more optimistic if you had a grand for a bus 8 to do it up and 3 free days a week to do it, but then as already mentioned you could just buy a good one to start with......like I should have!

  10. To be fair I didn't say I hadn't lol. Maybe it was implied somehow?!! I do plan for a slow burn project.... Maybe it will add up to £8k in a few years time. I won't be counting but I'm sure the missus will fill me in lol

A sub £1k bus will be pretty much unsalvageable.

  12. Pair of knitting needles and a hell of a lot of wool and you could knit yourself one :D

Maybe by being so tight in the first place!

I know what you mean though, I wanted a project, I enjoy fixing it almost as much as I will enjoy using it, when it finally gets finished that is!

I think there's something wrong with me enjoying repairing rusty old panels!

  14. Is wool cheaper than steel? I cant knit but i can crochet. Probably less holes though! :)

  15. Thanks man, I'm on it!

  16. Probably not, I crochet (tried knitting, I wasn't pleasant to be around, swearing with two pointy sticks is asking for trouble!) You could go for the multicoloured granny square look ;)

  17. Its not tight, its being fiscally responsible, like the coalition but with less zeros on the end lol

  18. Zed

Rubbish! I sold the red one that was once Bev and Johns for less than that, it "just" needed a roof transplant, the bottom half was good.

    Not rubbish at all.
99.99% of all sub £1k buses will be absolute Marmitee. If you sold a decent one for that then more fool you!
