Hi new joiners here with 79 Super Viking. What a great forum!! Having spent years restoring and building all sorts of crazy cars in the garage to keep me out of the pub I now have a project that I can hopefully share with my wife and three crazy kids. You can see from the pictures that its mostly original and now bodily spruced up. But I have to lower it to get in the garage and after loads of research I am going for dropped spindles from VW Heritage and Red9 Plates on the rear with uprated rollbars, adjustable shocks and 15 inch wheels. I am currently tearing apart the suspension and replacing all the worn parts etc. Also will have inertia belts in the rear, aux heater, stereo and other bits and pieces. Looking forward to using the van as intended (ie nights away with crazy family) and for bits to fall off so that I have something to do whilst the wife watches "Im a Celebrity..". I do have one query - my gear selector rod is flapping about at the front and looks like it should be sitting in a bush. I assume a bush is missing and have ordered a front bush to fit, but have no idea what way around it should go (if indeed I even need one). Also how difficult is it to repair the fridge? Finally where can I get some proper flares and a hat to match the seat material?
Usually if you take the fridge out and turn it upside down for a day or 2 the chemicals mix up again and it works ,whats the problem ,is it an RM122 or the 3 way 123?
Not sure if this is what you're after but I fitted this front bush (ooh er) recently Just remove the grub screw on the shaft, pop in the bush with loads of grease and screw the shaft back on.
Just for a bit of info, if it is anything like an electrolux 3 way fridge, cant tell from photos, then they are completely silent on 12v and 240v (haven't tried the gas option yet) so when you think you have switched it on, don't expect a hummmmmmmm or any noise, but leave it on for an hour and come back and check. Failing that, try the other advice, when i was a holiday rep, if somebodys fridge stopped working, we used to take it for a walk on a sack barrow, then by the time we got back it worked. So i reckon turning it upside down might be the next thing to do, as said. Beaut of a bus BTW PSG
Hi its an RM120. I will give the upside down trick a go. If I leave it on for 24hrs on either 240V or 12V it doesnt work, it does work on gas however. If no joy will talk to Techenders. Thanks for the advice.
