My new 1961 Eriba Puck project

Discussion in 'Restorations' started by icepug, Jun 8, 2014.

  1. It's not a camper but it is for my camper. A friend of mine needed some money on the hurry up and had a little 61 eriba puck for sale in need of some tlc. The bodywork and fibre glass lid are in not that bad nick to be fair. All needs a good rub down and repaint but as the body work is aluminium there is no rust. Whoopee!!!! Another good thing is that the body is literally sheet Ali just cut to size and screwed in place and I run and aluminium company so happy days. There is a little bit of rust on the underside but these things are only made of tubular steel so this is a perfect time for me to get to know my new welder a bit better. Inside is nearly all original and I could use it as it stands with a rewire of the electrics. Not to really sure how deep I am going to go with the resto but I'm sure it will turn into a major overhaul if any of my last projects are anything to go by. Here are a few pics to wet the appetite. This ones going to take a while as a new baby in October and my camper to finish I have enough on my plate at the moment but at £850 I will just leave it on the drive until I get round to it. Hell I could just sell it on for a profit but I doubt that will happen lol.

  4. I dunno. The kettle might come in handy but I do get your point. My thinking is to make it match the camper. So red and white.

  6. Now I really like these, see a few at Jimmy's farm this weekend.

  7. The guy I brought it fro is a top bloke and wanted what he paid for it which is fair dos in my book. He was also happy it was going to someone he knows and will be looked after.

  9. I've been tempted to sell my westy for a puck a few times. Still fancy one now.

Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.:)

  10. Love it...

  11. I like that
It would look awesome with the ally polished up like an airstream

  12. I think I'm going to polish the front lower bit of Ali and powder coat the rest. I can buy sheet Ali in already painted so ill do that and replace all the panels with freshly painted stuff. Save on sanding and alike.

  13. There is facebook group for Eribas which is pretty good. The best source of original spare parts is Jandi in Scotland or a guy called Heiner at www.eribasar.de
I have put some stuff about mine on the blog.

Is the ally of the right quality?

I presumed airstream were high quality alloy (not saying a Puck isn't), which is why they will take a shine.

In any event it really is a Midsummer Night's Dream.

I'll take more than nitromors - Semem is such a persistent stain.

Remember that when you are cleaning the inside.
