I think Williams will do well this year.
Nice to see a rookie get onto the podium, Magnussen drove a stunning race.

indeed, shame i'm still suffering that german anthem........

  7. Great race. Williams looks very racy. Mercedes is quick. I think if they can keep up development Williams will push all the others hard. Shame we didn't get a race at the front with Hamilton though

red bull/riccardo facing possible disqualification for dodgy fuel useage?

  9. It's been confirmed

Over the fuel flow rate of 100kg/hour. Surely they can use as much or as little throttle/power as they wish.

  10. No, 100kg maximum plus 100kg/hour maximum flow. Limits the variation allowed.

red bull seem confident on appeal that the meter is at fault, let's see how much power they have - i bet they will get off.

Now, don't get me wrong, I love the technology, like the fact it wasn't about the tyres and like some of the new looks....

But there was very little wheel to wheel action and for Rosberg to be 30 seconds clear and probably in fuel save mode for 40 laps is just replacing dull Red Bull domination with Mercedes. I hope this isn't going to be the case.

Also, the middle stint where Alonso, Button and someone else were just lined up behind Hulkenberg was truly dull... not even a feigned DRS pass.

I hope 3/4 of the field was sandbagging :)

On the plus side... hearing Vettel's childish whine about his toys not working :)

  14. I cant see how the FIA will be able to keep him disqualified unless they can proove there fuel meters are infaliable and that they have no faults with them.

Think its shaping up to be an interesting year but I do miss the scream of an engine bit disapointed with the noise!

  15. Stuff like this makes me very disillusioned with F1. I'm not one for harking back to "golden eras" but bring back the good old fashioned skulduggery of the 60's and 70s and banish this what to me seems like a political era rather than a sporting one

  16. I fully understand the desire of car manufacturers to introduce technologies that are relevant for the R&D on road cars, but making F1 a fuel saving formula is a joke. This isn't le man. What next, diesels?

Allow hybrid technologies, yes, but even that isn't relevant to road use because the systems work to a basic design principle. The car manufacturers don't do that as they all have their own hybrid systems.

F1 cars should have huge fat slick tyres and flames coming out of the back along with a noise which will make your ears bleed and your ball shrivel up.

Not engines which sound like light sabres and a restriction on fuel which makes the drivers drive slowly. The rules need opening up, not restricting. Aside from the hideous noses the cars all look the same which again shouldn't be the case.

Its unfortunate that Ricciardo has lost his podium and race finish result because he used too much fuel (if he actually did that is...

The FIA risk ruining F1 in the same way they did the WRC with too much meddling.
