I'll post the measurements up after the weekend - going away straight from work Saturday but back on Monday so will sort it out then.

  2. No rush for them really, got my dads van to finish first. But hopefully the weather stays like this so we can paint.

  3. Bern's Log wagon!!

    :D

  4. Its going to be even better , them logs are going to travel in style.;)

  5. I think they will need to be sanded and polished logs ;)

I presume you've asked Schofields? They do seem good at remaking special panels.

Auto craft do the panel - it's just a matter of pinning them down to when

  9. Can your man not pull the dent? I've just had a 2" deep dinner plate sized dent pulled out of the rear corner on my car with only a thin film of filler used
    :)

The problem is the depth of filler that has been used - especially around and on the vents - new metal is going to give me a longer lasting solution.

The good news is that Auto craft are going to make a late bay panel because they've had a few requests. The bad news is that it's going to take 8 weeks so things are going to be a bit quiet on this thread for a bit :(

I'll get the tilt measured tomorrow :)

  12. Do you know what age this will start at along with price and whether they are doing both sides? Haven't done enough investigation on mine yet to know if I'll need these in future...
    :)

  13. Also interested in bows measurements...

The ones they do at the moment are up to 1970

I didn't speak to them myself, but as I understand it the wheel arch is different and so is the petrol filler. The early ones had a flap. Price should be about the same - about £200.

these logs are going to work out expensive....... you could have burnt rolls of 20's and been better off.

It's turning into a much bigger job than it looked like. Might still be able to afford one bag of logs when it's all done :(

  18. Mine must be early then as I have a flap.

Not two flaps, just the one.

I wrote that last bit so i could say flaps as flaps I so much funnier than flap.

    Right then - been measuring: @chris_r582 @Joker

End frames - made of 20mm box section.
(originals were 'U' section but harder to fabricate)
    Maximum height is 112cm.
    Width of hoop 155cm.
Measured to the outside of the foot is 162cm.
The transition of the curve starts from 96cm.

The front one has a plate on the outside to bolt through the load bed and a plate on the inside of the upright to bolt through the rear of the cab.

The rear has a plate with two bolts.

I have three stretchers that go across the top once the wood has been bolted on - they are 165cm long and then shaped to the right contour and made of 20mm steel.
They should ideally be 'L' section to stop canvas wear but mine are flat - one bolts half way along to help keep the slats in the right place.

This is Stuart's van - the guy who makes the frames.

If you have a look on the projects part of his website there are some good pictures that show the setup - he has improved the design a bit since the ones were fitted to my van.
