More of a photo guide than a how to, its a tight fit but doable, and would be easier if you only wanted to direct the heat into the rear of the van. It feasibly (without altering the unit internals) only go under the drivers seat RHD due to the exits for flue and exhaust, my install is not completed yet, as the gas line still needs to be run, and for some reason the unit wont switch on, (possibly due to no gas??) Comments and suggestions welcome though, 2 webbing/closing supports removed from seat upright support from above, side door formed and riveted to hinge, and flat plate welded where outlet would be, just to make it mount flush and also make it easier to drill the vent hole, theres reinforcement to the rear around the seat belt anchor and I don't think removing the webbing affects the seat support, if in doubt weld/bolt a strengthener in at the front edge and also a new top webbing could be made and bolted on, imo though I dont think its necessary. What it'll look like... Mounting bracket welded in, Y piece shoulders trimmed down to the minimum I get get away with. Mounting bracket used on lower edge, Exhaust and flue fed through and connected up with jubilee clips supplied. Not sure where to route these yet, but there's option to go backwards or forwards.
Must be lack of gas pressure, I expect it has a low pressure cut-out in case of leaks or to prevent the glow plug knackering itself trying to ignite fresh air?
Hopefully its that, just I was impatient and didnt have any suitable copper pipe, but wanted to see if it would at least power on!
Looks very neat The little amber light on the stat flashes different amounts of times to tell you any faults that stop it from working.

A really neat idea, and well executed. One thing though....I thought I read in the instructions that they shouldn't be mounted on their side?
Side is OK....vertical isn't recommended as it puts strain on the motor bearings (according to Propex) My only reservation (and it may be totally unfounded) is sharing the outlet for both heated and recirculated air via the Y branch.....may be perfectly OK. Let us know how it goes.... I like the idea of having side access to the cubby....opens up an otherwise awkward space
Without the side access you can't get the ruddy thing in because of the inlet and exhaust stubs. Don't think he's sharing outlet - look again.
Yep...you're right...my mistake in that case, the recirc air will be warmed by the case itself....bonus!
Absolutely GENIUS! Very neatly done as well. (I believe the local vernacular would be "Bang tidy!" ?) That's nearly useless as storage space unless you're a contortionist with night-vision and inordinately long arms. And I had resigned myself to being happy with my portable little Buddy Heater. Which is quite nice, and cheap as well, but your invisible little precision-fitted rig would be bliss.
Hopefully this is whats happened, hooked some has up to it yesterday and still no action, it has power to the board, but noting to the controller/thermostat. I'm going to call them today to doublecheck, hopefully removing the pcb in situ will be easy enough, as the flue/exhaust are sealed in, and it was tight getting them in first time round.
Easier than if you'd fitted it upside down on the passenger side with the access plate trapped underneath.
Got a replacement board fuse from Propex and the unit fired into life straight away Wanted to finish the thread by saying the forward heating works as well the rear
The exhaust exits into the wheelarch, but I'm going to route and clip it down to finish behind the front jacking point.
I like this idea mine was moved when I had the LPG done, I think I'll fit mine here too as long as it fits mine is LHD.
