By the sounds of things you may not be entitled to an opinion - suspect these posts may well be deleted soon :(

  2. thats a fair enough opinion, i wasnt involved with the work done though, so its not my concern. was just trying to help.

  3. When I first went to look at it it did look pretty rough, I didn't find out how good it was till I got it home and my mates had a good look a round it.

I don't really want or really need to sell this but for what I was going to do with it, I just don't have the heart to do it as it is so good! I was going to hire it out! I'm going to sell it and buy a t5 to rent out instead.

I have a 1970 Westy that im going to keep and a 69 rot free bay I will sell to fund a T5 for my own use.

Some people do not have the skills and knowledge to buy and own one of these and can soon run up massive repair bills. A cheap camper may turn into a money pit! More people looking to buy one of these should look at the build threads and think can I take the work on and do I have the time!

Mods, please don't delete the posts! If people wishing to buy one should make up their own mind and compare my van to others they see cheaper!

  4. Your right but not everyone can do the work themselves, this is when the costs mount up. :-(
And for your argument the road tax. Only tax it for the summer months then keep it sorn. Plus I said I'll keep this one taxed for a few years. ;-)

  5. To me this bus looks and sounds like a £20k ONO bus, i haven't seen it in the flesh though, so only going on good faith. IF its rot free, its worth every penny of £20k. A good US import in shiny paint is 15k and they are common as muck so to get a UK original unwelded bus for only another 5k ish sounds fair enough to me. there are other buses for more money that are not original UK buses (even one for sale on here.)

As for it being a panel? its a Devon a lot of their buses are panel van conversions, its all part of the charm. Unfortunately its Green so i would never want it, not got anything about other people having green buses, i just cant own one myself (it would be bad luck).

Anyway good luck selling a very smart looking (albeit green :) ) Original UK bus.

People always bang on about Devon having used panel vans but I've never seen one!
If this was an uncut, UK, 40,000 miler I'd never have mentioned the price. As it is its had bloody great holes cut in the sides....

  7. The only panel vans devon converted themselves were the 79 Sundowners ,although you could take any van to devon that you yourself had purchased and they would convert

I can't ever remember seeing a devon ex panel either but I went to see a Viking for my cousin the other day that turned out to be an ex panel, and it wasn't mentioned in the advert. I just walked away from it, looked homemade .

  10. all devons look homemade dont they lol. when i first got mine, i didnt know anything about it, took the roof off and thought.. oh bugger this is a leaky home made roof haha.

    Perhaps you are right.

Oh no. You are wrong. We have 3 customers with Devons on 77-79 plates and they are based on panels. 2 have Moonraker interiors and one has the smaller poptop while another has the big roof and a customer with a Sundowner.

Not a customers but a Devon.

Here is a Devonette. It's based on a panel.

There is no "yawn". This is simply about showing Woody, Congi and yourself that Devon used panel vans as campers. It's quite straightforward I would have thought.

Well now you have. And the one for sale is another that you can add to the list of Devons you've never seen before.

Isn't TLB great. You can learn so much.
