Well i've put the odd pic up of my few days away in the poo bus/log cabin whatever you will but here in it's full glory is the total experience, Friday 30 Sept. set off to Aberystwyth to see a mate who lives there, i was aprehensive as i hadn't really travelled that far in the van before and i'm wary of not giving it 100% checkover as i'm waiting until winter to strip and check parts, anyway after the 1st hour it seemed all was good, i'd stopped listening for any noise and vibration and turned up the radio and started to enjoy.
Here's me crossing the English/Welsh border on the A458
    A458 into Wales
    Here is my "sat nav"

I picked a site called Aberystwyth Holiday Village.

A fair trek down to the field.

The site was fairly good but being out of season it was starting to be shut down, and not all open, there is a Reception, Shop, Chippie, Clubroom, Pub, Park and plenty of fixed caravans and touring pitches that are grass or hardstanding with electricity if you require it, there were plenty of showers and cleaning facilites etc, with free wi-fi on site as well.

I picked a grass pitch for the benefit of the dog and had electric as i wanted to use a microwave and watch telly on the laptop, it was £12 a night single occupancy dogs free plus £4 a night for electric, if you booked 2 nights they gave you the 3rd free, i didn't need 3 but it enabled me to leave at anytime on Sunday rather than pack up and go at 10am.

After i set up, which was super fast due to no awning i ventured off into the town, the big mistake i made was taking my socks off and putting trainers on with no socks....all will be revealed.
I walked along the front and saw a few Bays and a Beetle, plus a fair few newer Vw's.

Here are the bays and beetle i saw, the white bay is owned by a guy from the midlands called chris, i gave him a card, he informs me he'ss owned it 15 years and it's one of the last 5 Devons made, it is actually registered 1980 on a v reg, he says he will be joining us to look for a restorer for the panels.
The primer red and Blue panels were not with their owners.

When i set off home today i thought i would go back the coastal way to avoid the mountains, when i came in i came via newtown on the A44 and over the Cambrian mountains so i went home via Machlyneth and Dollgellau then via Welshpool into the outskirts of Shrewsbury. I stopped at Welspool for lunch and a rest.

After eating and reading a while i set back into England, here's a couple more videos of the trip as i'm nearly home
    A5 to M54
    M54 exit
    Hednesford Rd Hersham Boys
All in i've done about 300 plus miles and done £80 petrol but the van ran faultless and i'm well happy with the auto trans, it took the effort out of the trip, i loved the driving so much i went and came back a lot longer route than i needed too, i sat mostly at 50-55mph but now and again i took it upto 65, we didn't use a drop of oil all the time so i'm well happy so far with how it went.
    Hope you enjoyed my ramble.

  8. Good write up ,glad you made it back ,did your TV work on the laptop? was it a dongle one as I've yet to try mine but I think the ariel will to too small.
