distance between supports is 78mm ish and using 3inch pipe it fits exactly between

using case bolts and there is fixing infront of the case breather

  2. A few MOT issues, headlights miles out , not been touched since the guy who painted it refitted them about 4 mot`s ago , turns out drivers side inners are put in 90 degrees out and no chance of ever being right
Taking them off i realised how ****** the rims are ,never refitted the og ones as they were painted white and at the time i wanted chrome , OG ones are brass with a nice rolled edge check out the difference

Took me aged but I managed to find a trip speedo , not the most common of things , clocked it to match original mileage ........

  5. Dont people like this really p1ss you off

Outstanding work on the rear break mod

Nice is not the right work gorgeous best I've scene I would say

I aspire to your work I will doff my cap

    Doff doff

  6. bit of a picture update , seem to have done loads but doesn`t really show ...

    shortened the breather box
    [IMG]

brackets to hold rear of S/C stainless steel

    end strengthener

steel timing scale ..massive pain in the ass

added a bit to the end of pulley bracket to give it some support and to tie in .[IMG]

  7. Awesome. I know you are doing all the hard work yourself but what kind of cost will this stand you at when done??
Are you thinking of making kits up :)

    belt fitted .well mocked up

removed rear water pump and blanked off

  9. 6mm tufnol gaskets to prevent the heat boiling off fuel when switched off .. currently run these at the minute and the work really well so made another set ..

using mock up carbs to get heights somewhere near for pipe work .

turbo hats sealed with Orings ,stainless 90 bends

playing with the 3inch to 2 x 2inch pipes , my thinking is by keeping quite large pipes it will not give the charger chance to make large presures

it will get welded to the charger pipe and two more 90 bends then some flexible silicon pipes and jobs a goodun

cost wise . my original plan was sub 500 quid . my initial thinking was spend 3-4 k +on building a big motor or do something a little difference and see if i could achieve the 120 bhp that i set myself , Supercharger is Eaton (mini) delivery miles only and cost £160 twin 40`s were £200 manifolds £33 belt £7 the rest i have made and cost nothing (well not to me ) budget will go out the window as i plan to go megajolt ignition and loose the dizzy which wasn`t in my original plan . Not planning on making any kits as i have no idea if this will work or self distruct its more for the fun of it and to get the rebuilt WO code engine to a good use

    I love this thread. :)

  11. Some quality engineering going on there. :)

  12. Cracking stuff:thumbsup:

  13. Thanks for answering :)

If you made more of those manifold gaskets i could use a pair due to heat soak through my dells ;)

  15. Ok ill say it

Dude you need to speak up more and show your skills more

Theres those of us that can talk, waffle and turn out a good job when we put our effort into it
Then theres guys like you that have the access to decent machinery and skills that a back shed engineer doesent have

I know you do the dash clips and over rider rubbers so far
If you set up shop supplying decent quality parts that cost 3 times as much as the off the shelf stuff sold by almost all the vw aircooled retailers
You would be my first port of call as i know from your posts and persona on here you wouldent pass on Marmite and if there was a mistake you would rectify it

Id love to spend some time working heads and putting them on a flow bench with you as i think working together we could make a difference

Most performance dub parts come from america isnt it time we showed america some british approach?

  16. Amazing! Don't know where to start, absolutely love this, serious man envy here.

    More! More!

    Cheers,

    Alistair

  17. ok so no update for a while ....made the decision to go crankfire ignition and swop out the carbs for EFI .....
BUT on the cheap .......Jenvey Throttle bodies are the ones to use but @ £600 pair its not even on my radar ..
Had a tip about using motorbike Throttle bodies ...

so £23 later on ebay i have a pair of throttle bodies ,fuel rails ,sensors ,everything
I bought a set of type 4 injection manifolds ,spent an age removing the steel pipes and plan on welding stainless tube in to match up with the bodies ...

Also when i built the motor i never used copper head rings ,so as you can't buy the size or thickness i wanted i had to make these as well ....

    pics
    [IMG]
These manifolds were an absolute ass to remove the pipes ........
Alloy to match up to the throttle bobbies ,there is o rings to seal it all up , stainless to be able to weld to manifolds .....I could have adapted the dell manifolds but where is the fun in that
    [IMG]

Motor bike bodies are a sweet bit of kit with every thing I need ,including injectors .
Weld tubes to marry the two together , I could use the injectors in the manifolds OR throttle bodies

there are a few other things ive done like fit the trigger wheel and stuff .if i find the pics ill post them
