Nice spot for picnic in van - Derbyshire / Nottinghashire / S.Yorkshire

  1. Anyone know of anywhere nice where you can just park up the van and enjoy the scenery with a picnic etc near the Derbyshire / Notts / S.Yorks borders ?

  2. Clumber park, near Worksop. Gets busy if the weathers nice, but always fairly quite during the week

  3. Yep, Clumber park is lovely. Surprisingly large too if you haven't been before, quite a few places you can park up privately too if you get away from the main car park.

However, I would stay away on a hot weekend\bank holiday as it gets rammed.

There's also Carsington Water which is really rural & boasts so e excellent scenery or there's the Derwent dams, again very rural with some splendid scenery!

  5. get yourself to Rother Valley mate! got wake boarding, nice big lakes to walk around, take bikes, have a picnic, chill, get a beer or have a nice meal in the cafe, its our favourite spot around here, its out view out of the back of our house

  6. These are great suggestions :) I'm looking at being able to park up and enjoy the picnic at the side of the van, so avoiding car parks is ideal...
I'm visiting friends who live between Chesterfield and Mansfield soon and taking the van to show them what it offers by way of a nice day out.

    Will do....
What a lovely view you have fella !

  7. Rother Valley is perfect, you can park up right at th eside of the lake. I think you can stay overnight too.
