Hi all , i am going to try and renew the fuel filler pipe ( tank end ) on my late 72 bus through the disc hatch behind the air filter , has anyone got any experience of this , can anyone advise on which pipe i need etc Best of all can anyone find a breakdown diagram of the job , i can't , obviously i have never done this before so any advice will be welcome , i know it is easier to drop the engine but feel the need to purge my laziness through self harming and fitting through the side disc !! Pictures and pipe i need links would be appreciated
i have done mine you need a twisty arm , through the paint tin hole and ease the top of the fire wall . goes off to look for pictures
Cheers JD is that the same as mine or is your bus later , sorry i can't remember EDIT - just looked at your avatar - T REG
Top tip - if you find a local trade Hose supplier you will find they might have this type of diameter pipe and cut it for you for about £5 or so. It turns out that the filler on my 1958 Wolseley was the same as used by petrol tankers! A lot cheaper than the usual suspects and probably to far higher safety regulations!
i can't remember if filler pipes tank end on 72s are straight or bent , i kinda think they are the equal length bent ones but can't find any reference Stan
