  1. Good work on the bus fella, loving your buses name... Wonder if it has the same meaning around your neck of the woods as it does in mine :D

  2. cheers bud. ha ha i can think of a few things it could mean!!! most people round here just think i can eat lots of pastys. come on chrisgooner let it slip what it means up your end of the woods :p:p

  3. after the rear arch and rear corner are ready to go on i cut out the sill as that was shot and it was easyer to get to before putting the rear arch panel on.

in the end i cut it off as the cargo foor had been plated over lots of rust so would need replacing anyway

going to need some work on chassis rail
    [IMG]

then inner and middle sill spot welded together and painted ready to go on.

took ages to line it up right as the sliding door was this side

then made small repair to bottom of post
    [IMG]

then the fun time of getting rear arch tacked on and rear corner

    slow but getting their

Van looks not too bad? You do know you don't have to fit whole panels? Kind of better to find where the rot stops and use as little as possible, particularly those Klokker panels we have to use on the rear arches and corners. Coming along nicely. :
This'll be the view from mine.

  5. nice panel, also loving the live aboard, it was a dream of ours once, then the second child came a long, still would love a wide beam one day but then again the bus is enough for us :D

You might, I won't be sitting on the mooring the whole time. It's near Rugby, but I'll be heading North rather than south mostly. South's a bit congested for my liking.
    Your welding's neat.
If you use panel to mark what you want to cut, cut less off, then re-mark again because it'll sit better and you won't end up with what looks like rather large gaps from the pic you took from the inside. Thin panels, large gap to fill = distortion.

  9. update time ;)

seam welded rear corner and arch
    [IMG]

then a quick skim of filler
    [IMG]

need to work on my filler skills but ill get their
    [IMG]

then red oxide and put high build primer on.

still need to get the seam back as that got lost and i like the look of the seam

still needs some work to get completely right but im going to go over the whole bus when the body repairs have all been done

Agreed - Quality name for a bus!

Take it the bed is worn out

Keep it up, there's a fair bit of rot/resto work there to deal with - (a thumbs up will have to do, in place of the old 'karma +')

  11. moving forward i then made a start on the chassis rail again close to the rear axel.

had a bit of a shock as when poking around someone had put a plate over the rust and stuck Fiberglas over the top. was a little bit worried about repairing this but carried on

glad i didnt bye it and drive it around now after seeing this
    [IMG]

cut it out and made a plate to go round
    [IMG]

need to put a new handbrake conduct on but going to sort that when doing brake lines and new cables
    [IMG]

Looking good, the rear axle/chassis repair wasn't for the feint hearted! Is/was the other side as bad?
I'll stop offering advice now I know you did it 6 months ago. :)
Apart from this - def dig the seams back out or they crack, water will get in and rust stains will dribble back out and look bliddy awful.

  15. your help and advise is more than welcome zed, its nice to have the comments .
ive not got to the other side yet as my parents drive way is quite narrow but did turn it around the other day so will know soon, keeping finger crossed its not as bad.

the van seemed quite solid at first but their are alot of bodges on it and shed loads of filler

  16. i use to walk past that sad bus just sitting there waiting for some one to rescue it ,well done on the work you're done .hope i get to see it when its finish
