The van I imported came with a front wheel bracket thrown inside. The holes exist on the front panel, which can't be seen from the inside. How to I re-fix the bracket with nuts and bolts if I can gain access to the holes from the cab area? Am I missing something obvious before I start taking the thing apart?
There are loads of different options out there? Mine is actually welded on rather than bolted but how high are the holes on the front? You might be lucky and get your hands under the dash otherwise you might have to take the V shaped pipes that feed the top dash vents? If you can see daylight through the holes( get a glamourous assistant to shine a torch through the outside?) under the dash?
Ah gottchya!! The holes are already there so looks gash in anycase, and gives extra space inside for all our crap. Agree though that the bays look better without.
I don't think they look too bad to be honest. It's the damage it does to the front panel that puts me off...
The fixings should be captive rivnuts or something similar. I quite like the wheel on the front panel...apart from the fact that it's going to bend something.
I had no option it came like that and until I do a full resto not bothered. Mind got used to it so will leave it. The other advantage it helps to keep the stone chips off the body if nothing else and handy to lean on when having a chat and a brew!
