Thats something less to do then. Got most of my stuff together now. Need to do servo connection. Got a barb so need to drill and tap. Manifolds arent that thick for ally tbh - I mean to get a thread in! Is one connection adequate.
having take-offs tigged onto mine, one per barrel, makes balancing them easier so i have been told last thing you want is a vac leak.... leak equals lean mixture... equals burnt out heads
Yes fine off one if it's not tiny. I have mine on a balance pipe between the carbs, the hole in the barbs is only about 4mm dia. I didn't think it would work but it does. 4mm dia is about 12 sq mm cross sectional area. I have 2 take-offs so that's 24 sq mm vac total. If I only had one 24 sq mm take-off the hole dia would be about 6mm. So if yours is as big or bigger I predict it'll work. I once found one attached to the teeny pipe that comes off a T1 manifold for the hot-air flap vacuum. That didn't work.
Let me know how the carb install goes, got mine to do sometime soon... So any problems encountered please share!
Probably wont do it till the weather warms up a bit tbh. Dont want to have to try to set the things up really - fitting isnt an issue.
i just copied what was already there regards balance pipe and hole size . I tigged one take off per manifold . I found the CB linkage needed a lot of work to get right . vent /jetting size was fun .
Get the book, the white one with the carb on the front it will tell you how to ballpark set them up before install, also the guys at eurocarb will give you ball park jetting info too
Got that and read it!!!! I might have understood some of it. Not sure whos linkage I have - its a Bell Crank jobbie I believe rather than a hex bar
Interesting. Same fanny-moulds as me. Is that all quite robust! would be afraid of breaking one of those.
All pretty well tigged together, with the small sections of rubber to allow for the odd vibration..... The Ali tube is 2mm thick so is pretty stiff
