All, Any Advice on trying to get carpet glue off? Close to resorting to a gridding wheel, they should my black boxes out of this stuff. Thanks Killit
If it's anything like the glue they use for window tinting the only solution we found that removed it was Gin.
I used this stuff for cleaning off the old glue when I fitted new door rubbers, & it worked a treat.. http://www.bostik.co.uk/diy/product/evo-stik/Adhesive-Cleaner/114
My bad. I was getting it confused with isopropyl nitrate I've just wikipedia'd it. Interesting. It's not what I thought it was used for that's for sure.
Cheers Guys, One of the suggestions is bound to work and if not I will be so high from the fumes and simply won't care. Killit
Anything that melts it makes it harder to remove. I patiently scraped with a semi-sharp chisel, then thinners for the last tiny bit. It's easier on inside of a painted bus as it rolls up, but still hard work. I haven't found a magic solution and I've tried most things.
I tried loads of things, 3m adesive remover, bostik adhesive remover, thinners, etc. some stuff came off with a razor blade but some stuff wouldn't shift and i got so *******ed off i used a cup brush on an angle grinder. If you're careful and use the one with the fine strands, you can remove the glue without damaging the paint.
