Hi, could somebody point me in the direction of what is a good fuel pressure regulator using an electric fuel pump for a type four 2 L engine? TIA. Graeme
An electric fuel pump with a built in regulator, as this relies on bleeding off excess pressure, by feeding excess flow back to the input. So it does not drop pressure very much with even high flow. Or a Malpassi pressure regulator, which relies on a "demand valve" approach so it needs a small pressure drop increasing with flow to operate . The cheap pressure regulators are more random.
currently using a faset posi flow fu currently using a facet posi flo fuel pump if that helps. Thanks.
I have a Malpassi Filter King installed and it's set to run at around 2.3PSI. There are cheaper regulators, but you get what you pay for.
Keep the Posiflow as a spare and replace it with a Carter Rotary Pump. It has a built in reg like Mike was suggesting. Mine is on a 2ltr type 4 with twin idf40s and works a treat.
This one ( hunt around, you may find it cheaper) https://www.heritagepartscentre.com...ISO6C4sAYX46ss-ULWJbAe3KLe9s7scsaAt1aEALw_wcB
They are about £60 in the US, double that in the UK. https://www.cbperformance.com/product-p/3193.html Although a bit cheaper from VW Jim. https://www.vwjim.co.uk/ourshop/prod_7202516-Fuel-Pump.html
