Hello all, Since 2019 our family is the proud owner of a 1979 VW T2b Westfalia. This specific bus is a Taiga green T2, from the last year of construction in Germany. Originally German sold, it ended up in Belgium around 10 years ago. Being as original as it can possibly be, the previous owner gave it some well deserved love on the bodywork front, revised the original 2.0l Type 4 engine (now with dual Weber setup) and didn't touch the 100% original interior. We travel with our bus a lot... not only for long roadtrip holidays in Europe, but also for (very) short weekends... as much as possible, our bus is there to join us in our weekend adventures. Let me know if there are some questions, happy to answer them. And... if you like, you can follow our adventures on Instagram: vw_t2_westy --> Welcome!
We visited the Abbey Wood campsite in the Easter holidays! First 'UK test' before we headed to Scotland in July ;-)
Welcome from France, My '77 Westy was sold in Germany then was exported to the UK where it stayed for about 10 years, and long enough to get rusty. I rebuilt it and moved to France in 2011. It's far from original, I modified the interior and the Type 4 engine is now 2316cc. I know nothing about Instagram but if your travels take you to the west of Lyon you're welcome to call in, plenty of room in our garden to park.
