This is actually border of Austria but now in Ljubljana and Billy bus getting a well earned rest. I changed the other side rocker cover gasket this morning for good measure and handled the 4 hr drive in 35 degree heat well
Mrs Tatty was in Ljubljana a few weeks ago. She really liked it. Enjoyed a trip out to Lake Bled too.
Well done for driving their good test of your buses engine. Have you driven over the Julian Alps yet? All I remember was taking a hire car over them, really twisty turny and no road side barriers, just a long drop to the valley floor. We also went to the Soca Valley, which is an interesting WW1 location. And climbed Triglav as part of a walking holiday. Was a good few years ago so wonder how much the place has changed.
we went to Ljubljana yesterday and had a good meal and walk around and today we arrived in a great area on the soca river in a little spot called Kobarid where there is blue waters, mountains, waterfalls and just a really natural place. Petrol stations sell 10 litres of oil for 39 euros that will keep Billy bus on the move for a while! Tomorrow we head onto Italy to meet up with my wife’s family for a few beach days. Very happy with the bus I thank him everyday when we arrive without incident
Your post brings back many happy memories of a holiday with my wife, just had a look through the photo album of our trip. We stayed in Kobraid as well, I cant remember the name of the hotel/B&B. Enjoy the rest of your trip.
Thanks - just looked at my oil purchase and brand is called petrol but for a diesel engine so won’t be using that and will swing back for a refund / exchange - what a stupid name for a diesel oil ha ha
