@gratboyslim Remember these you collected for me last year, Adam? Thought you might like to see progress Reshaped, refinished and grilles moved to be the same as those on the OEM unobtainium 67 wings and now ready for paint! Haven't seen the bill, yet, however
Hi mate! They look great. Some nice metalwork been done there. I would have warped them and spent weeks straightening and filling if I had done it! haha. I thought you'd stripped down your car for a moment, but I guess that's someone else's shell!
Thanks, Adam. Yeah, just another shell used as a dummy for fitment. The chap who did it is a very good fabricator, some things best left to the pros; they got the specialist tools and the skills to use them properly
Did it before the work was done, so had an idea of what needed doing. That's a good idea, I might suggest that we try again, I know they haven't been painted yet, as it's me supplying the paint; I have the colour match.
I am pretty pleased with the results, so far Obviously, no wing beading at this stage Definitely worth doing a second dry run, thanks for the prompt @Zed
Just got to get them onto the Bug without spoiling the nice shiny new paint now Mind you, they'll certainly pick up a few paint chips once the better weather returns And I won't have to keep tripping over them every time I go into that room...
I know exactly what you mean Andrew, I have not done anything to either bus as I'm shattered from work. Fingers crossed for a dry weekend & some good progress
They look very good, some day we'll have to get the two biege Bugs together? Such a diversity of styles, all from the same base vehicle
We can go offroading together! Once it's on the road next year I'll drag it along to a show and we can have a TLB bug line up
I mean...seeing it, well... you'd wonder what all the 67 Bug one-year-only fuss was about? Spot the difference?
Need to treat myself to some new horn grills, the tabs have gone on one side due to metal fatigue. Also, I haven't fully buttoned up the wing as I'm waiting on delivery of some new black wing beading, the current stuff has gone brittle with age On with the other side
