Morning folks, we are going from Glenfarclas Distillery to Ullapool and fancied stopping near Loch Ness. We could do with hook up for the night so thought we should stop on a site rather than wild camp. Any recommendations please
In 1981 I could have helped you. Been trying to get back there for 40 years. I hope you have a great time, it's a gorgeous part of the world.
Still lovely, still raining. Camping and Caravan Club have a site called Lock Ness shore .... must be near loch and you know the standard will be ok. Just realised it's the "wrong " side of the loch. There's a hotel at the exhibition site ... bet that's not much more than a campsite this time of year..... a bar to wind down after drive and somebody cooking a good breakfast in the morning would swing it for me .
Cheers @Betty the Bay. Our immediate plans have changed as managed to swap our The Jacobite train tickets for sooner so may be at Loch Ness later in the week.
We have this one listed for 2022's trip: http://www.borlum.co.uk/Camping/Campsite.html Handy for Urquhart Castle too
On way up or down, Red Squirrel Campsite glencoe. Lovely site with walk to pub down lane. Just off the main Glencoe road
Shame it's not got hook up ... looks a lovely location... but reviews a bit iffy. Lovely area... fun looking for Skyfall location.

Cheers for all recommendations . Plans have changed again but we are hopefully going by Loch Ness at some point
