Back home and having measured the gap between the Westy roof and the garage door, I have 4cm in the centre of the door and more as the roof slopes away each side. So it looks OK for these panels with the Jbox on each panel being out if the way.
I’m also interested , but concerned on length as I have Sopru with roof vent Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
@pkrboo, I was wondering if you think there is enough interest to move forward with these PV panels? I only ask as I'm still playing with the idea of a 100w PV rigid panel in the roof rack area and that comes out a lot cheaper, unless the discount on offer is substantial. I'm not decided either way yet. Did you have an idea of what the discount might be? Thanks for starting this thread.
Metal is more thermally conductive than plastics, so will tend to spread heat, not heat up the panels, why aluminum is used for heatsinks (although copper is better) . If you put the panels on more insulating plastics they will be equally hot all over. I wonder if actually just sticking them on the fibreglass and crossing the gaps just with the panels will work. After all my panels are only supported by 3 narrow aluminium bars running along the long axis, between the cells.
