Hi all, my name is Roy. I was talked into buying a 1979 T2 by the wife so for the last two months have been covered in grease and petrol. I am in the process of changing all the petrol hoses and breather pipes as the van has quite a petrol smell. I have found two pipes ( braded) one to the carb and one from the tank to the pump so as soon as I touched the tank pipe it started dripping petrol I wonder if it is the ethanol that has degraded these pipes? Anyway sorry to harp on as this was supposed to just be an introduction
Always a good first job, replace all fuel lines if unsure of their age and quality. Hi from Middle Earth.
Hi from sunny Cheshire The pipes will just be age damage, check the filler neck rubbers too and post some pictures!
Welcome to the group from down south. Good choice of first job and hope you gets lots of fun out of the camper.
Welcome along! Where abouts are you based? No doubt there’ll be one of us nearby if you get stuck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Welcome When you’ve done the breathers and get a wiff of exhaust fumes check the heat exchangers aren’t rusted through. Just trying to be helpful
