I looked on eBay to see if I can find the same thing a) cheaper and b) sold in singles, but I've drawn a blank. It's to connect the breather to the air filter, the previous owner hasn't bothered and has bunged a filter on top of the breather pipe. I am specifically, I think, after the type with the nut on the outside, to reduce likelihood of a loose nut ending up in the engine. Anyone got any ideas? I am encouraged by @snotty 's recent find of marine grade rubber grommets at 1/10 the price of the so called VW part. What have folk done to solve this problem in the past? Many thanks.
Interesting. That would suit my needs better - to connect a fuel vapour pipe to a kadron carb. At present (and suggested in other forums) i’ve just got a plastic nut glued to the underside of the carb cap (if that’s what it is called). Less than ideal compared to what’s in your pic. Its a bulkhead fitting. Any hydraulic' supplier will have them as they are an off the shelf item. We binned a load a couple of months ago
Is that what I should be using as a search term on eBay etc? I don't see a hydraulic supplier wanting to sell me just a single item. Thanks.
That's what I've tried, but they all come up with the nut on what would be the inside of the air filter, rather than as shown on the above screenshot
They will. We have one in Catcliffe, if we go in for a single fitting and cash in our pocket, tell them what we want and its sorted..as easy as! Pirtek are the same, if a driver is passing, he'll drop anything off we need from a single fitting to a hose.
What about a rivnut in the filter top then threaded barb in to it. Again, might depend on thickness and thread size. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
From adding servo take offs and balance pipes to manifolds in another life. All I own really - clothes and tools and I don't have many clothes. Everything else got chucked when I moved from house to boat.
The rivnut itself, or whatever was screwed to it? I’m fairly new to them. They definitely only like their stated material thickness for use in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
