I need to replace the egr tubes in the heads of the engine. 1 warped when I took it out so it can’t go back in or be welded up (mainly because it’s in the bin) and I’m really struggling to find the right bolt to block the holes up. Any ideas where I can find either a new EGR tube or an M10 metric superfine threaded bolt with a 0.75mm thread pitch?!!
Cheers @snotty , I’ll take a look. I’ve emailed half a dozen fastener and bolt places from google and the ones that have replied have said they don’t do them
try calling Clerkenwell Screws. a proper source of everything 'screwy'. if they have them, i can pick them up for you and then post to you.
They’re deffo m10, but it’sa fine line between between 1mm and 0.75. My micrometer says .75, but it was also £8.99 from Wish...!
You could always buy an M10x0.75 die cutter on eBay for about £3.75 and cut your own threads on tubing or bar stock. Or pay 10x more and get one that is properly hardened from Cromwell Tools. The cheap one will probably be OK on mild steel..
Do you know what @mikedjames , ignore what everyone else says about you, you do come out with some good ideas occasionally The thought didn’t even occur to me, just got a die and ally rod from eBay for £12. Worst case, I’ll be able to tick off my 8.99 micrometer as money wasted, best case is I block them bad boys up with ally rod, carved with my own fair hand. You’re a legend mate, cheers
buy a thread pitch gauge for 99p , make certain you’re right because I’ve not had difficulty getting the right bolts , still pretty sure they’re 10x1mm
