  1. I think you should paint it just like the Tamiya Sand Scorcher, seriously

Our favourite was 5 and quite a few on here and Facebook went that way too! I’ll let it stew at the back of my mind for a bit but I may go for that.

I decided to sew the two fabrics I like the most to the leather. I think I’ve changed my mind now and will go with the second white and orange geometric pattern instead. Thoughts?

Tackling the double skinned front bulkhead on the baja next. The outer wasn’t too bad so i chopped out the inner to allow me to clean up the inside.

    Inner chopped out.

Trail fit of the new inner. They’re an ok fit but nowhere near as good as the originals.

Glad I separated the inner and outer on the replacement panel as the inner was already going rusty! I’ll clean up and paint this.

Started repairing the outer, good to be getting some metal in.

More fresh metal going into the baja project today.

Repairs to the outer panel of the front bulkhead finished.

N/S end of the napoleons hat refreshed with a cut from a LHD repair panel.

  19. Nice work on the bulkhead.
I looked at the repro panels as mine was badly repaired (ok, metal 'welded' over the rust) and saw how bad the pressings were. Luckily a mate was chopping up a shell and i got the lower bulkhead off it.

Super lucky finding a shell with it still intact!
The pressings on the inner bulkhead repair section aren't too bad to be fair, but it's a fraction too narrow to be a tight fit against both inner wheels arches so I can't plug weld it. Think I'll end up just hammering it so the lips touch and then weld the edges.
