£ 660 was for an upstairs bay in Firestone rubber, tucked 1ft under tiles and edged with a upvc trim.... the second quote of ,£1200 was without scaffolding as he was happy to do it from ladders......so it sounds like the £660 quote was low...?

  2. If insulation included then a medium price for the bay. Still a days work. Depending on your roof layout scaffolding should used, it's not just to get up to the work area but to stop someone landing on the floor the wrong way up! An 8ft long bay generally isn't very wide so not much room for a person, tools and materials. I sometimes use a cherry picker for these jobs if scaffolding an issue.
