Quick question, why did you tie a piece of string to the grinder, you should of tied it to the tightening spanner then you wouldn't of lost it:rolleyes:

I lost a magnetic inspection lamp once. Couldn't find it for weeks, until I parked in a car park in town one day, and saw it stuck on the passengers door of my recovery truck that was also parked there...

Yes! My mechanic B in Law kindly left an 18 inch handled flat head screwdriver vertically under the bonnet .... for the six months before it was spotted at a battery change

  13. My dad was forever losing his pencil and nearly always it was tucked behind his ear.
We used to have loads of them funny shaped joiners pencils on the mantel piece as he’d come home take his jumper off and pencils would fall to the floor.
They were always sharpened with a knife never a pencil sharpener

  14. I don’t seem to loose tools
I suppose years of working on aircraft where everything has to be accounted for and tagged out and back in again has helped with that.
I have lent plenty out over the years only for people to never return them though
But I don’t seem to be able to put a piece of sandpaper I’m using down for a split second without not being able to find it again.

A few weeks ago I was using a paint brush to daub some zinc rich primer into a void on the bus
I put it down on the tin for a couple of seconds then it disappeared
For the life of me I couldn’t figure out where it had gone
Then I heard a crunching sound and turned round to see the handle of it sticking out of a goats mouth
Those things really will eat anything

I’m one that will wander around toolshops for an eternity. I’ve got the telescopic mirror thingy, the thumb screwdriver etc etc, but the one that’s a real pig for loosing, is the one that looks like a telescopic ariel with a magnet on the end to pick up loose or errant nuts and bolts and washers etc etc. Unfortunately as soon as you finish picking something up with it, you put it down and it metamorphosises into bodywork and becomes invisible, bloody thing :)

    Ozziedog,,,,,,,,, handy though :)
