Gurt plumbers thread - end feed solder fittings 15 mm to 1/2 inch

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by Mattlad, Oct 9, 2019.

  1. Afternoon plumber people.

can I use 15mm end feed solder fittings to connect 15mm with 1/2 inch copper tube.

Is it the 22mm to 3/4 that gives grief. I can’t remember.
    Thanks

  2. 15mm to 1/2 inch no problems

22mm to 3/4 your going to need an adaptor

  3. Or just do what I see all the time. Unload virtually an entire roll of solder, into, onto and around the joint. If you also get huge globs of solder snot to hang off of the fitting and possibly run all over any adjacent pipe work as well then you should be fine.

  4. Do you have to wrap the mains cable supplying the boiler around the hot pipe, or is that optional?

I sensibly get a 1/2 to 15 mm adapter or use a thick olive :)

  14. Cheer folks - I unleashed the roll of solder into it and all good - just off the CPS for more solder and I’ll use that too so should be fine. - I’ll burn Marmite out of the decoration while I’ll at itZ

  15. Don't forget if there's any water in the pipe it takes the heat and the solder won't adhere
