Burton on Trent is like Stoke on Trent ....when driving through totally baffling, always go wrong . Always seem to end up in a Morrisons carpark or a grotty recycling depot . Beer and pottery is nice mind .
The thing that amuses me is that it's ok for TLB's resident Science expert to go on about "Snowflakes" but he has a boo boo if he thinks he's been called a troll. The phrase "can dish it out but cant take it" springs to mind. Very droll....that's droll, not troll by the way
To be fair trolls don’t normally get painted in a very good light. All that hiding under bridges and eating farmers cattle does tend to dent ones reputation. I believe fungus the bogeyman was about the only one who gets any good press, and I’m not sure he’s even a full troll.
The Billy goats gruff have published their long awaited pamphlet "Strategies to Employ When Traversing Troll Controlled Thoroughfares". Its a best seller among the farm cattle community.
I thought Gonks had big fat tummys ? did you buy them from either Stoke or Burton charity shop ....Burslem car boot .
All farmers around here have a copy, it's obligatory reading. Mind you, I don't think trolls are endemic to Australia but one or two may have been smuggled in by the English convicts. Sent from my ALCATEL ONE TOUCH 9002A using Tapatalk
To me it looks like most are missing the point, Step one, where are we, Step two decide where you want to be, Step three, what can be done to get there, Step four, do it. We're all it it together, it doesn't matter whose fault it is or even if its a natural cycle. What can we do to improve things? This goes for most things, even Brexit. When everyone has their own agenda its like landing a net full of mackrel, its easy because they all pull against each other, if they all swam in the same direction they'd probably sink the boat. PS, It was nice being young when issues were black and white or Digital rather than Analogue (not just the TV).
This is what Jeremy Clarkson thinks - not my favourite person but he makes sense this time :- “How dare you sail to America on a carbon fibre yacht that you didn’t build which cost £15million, that you didn’t earn, and which has a back-up diesel engine that you didn’t mention,” he writes. “Pause for a moment to consider how soundly you sleep at night, knowing that adults are building and servicing and flying Sweden’s fighter planes to keep you safe. “We gave you mobile phones and laptops and the internet. We created the social media you use every day and we run the banks that pay for it all. “So how dare you stand there and lecture us, you spoilt brat.” Clarkson goes on to acknowledge that the planet is heating up and something needs to be done before we are all faced with an “unimaginable refugee crisis” but suggests Greta should perhaps “get back to school as quickly as possible and work hard in your science lectures”. He adds: “Science is what will solve the problem eventually. Not scowling and having screaming ab-dabs every five minutes. “Many thousands of people who you had the temerity to blame this week are trying to do exactly what you want. “So be a good girl, shut up and let them get on with it.”
Coming from the entitlement ‘grown up’ piece of Marmite who punched someone because his food was wrong/late...
Yep. Typical Clarkson. Any of that "How dare you... " stuff. It usually means, I haven't actually seen all of what you say, and I cant really engage with what you say so I'll just have a screaming ab dab of my own because it's alright for me to do it but not you. Utter plank. Still, it gets him some column inches and a few cut n pastes on Facebook.
He does, and others have taken issue with her but in a more measured way. She is 16 and full of passion. He is a grown man who should know better. To me it just sounds like a bully who thinks he's really achieved something by scoring a point against the littlest kid in the playground. I wouldn't defend what she says because I'm not entirely sure of the science behind it all. I usually quite like Clarkson by the way
Clarkson might have some valid points there, but shouting down a 16 Year old girl, that has clearly got her heart in the right place, has just made him look like a right nasty piece of work. Although I suspect that is what he was aiming to do.. maybe he has got another book coming out soon?
