When you look at new cams if they're not stock they all seem to say HD springs.. but no one seems to sell type 4 hd springs... In a bus with revs staying quite low are you really going to get past where stock can still cope , if not how much of a bodge is type 1 hd springs? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Ahnendorp B.A.S. has them for a mere 200 Euro https://www.ahnendorp.com/VW-Type-4...pplies-64/Valve-Springs-HD-VW-Typ-4--Set.html I bought mine from Jim at Stateside but they’re probably type 1 springs. It’s not just revs, you need to make sure the spring isn’t coil bound at full lift and it has to control the acceleration/deceleration of a steeper cam ramp angle. Have a look at this (20 minutes in) and you’ll probably get HD springs.
Ta.. keep forgetting about Jim! His website hasn't changed for that long guess the prices are out if date.. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
I used Scat single type 1 springs. They are a push fit on the bosses but no machining required. I got them direct from Scat US as Coolair were out of stock at the time. Might have some now. https://www.scatvw.com/product/single-springs-with-chromoly-retainers/
