Handbrake Lever Boot

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by MR SAM HODSON, Sep 14, 2019.

  1. Hello! I currently can see the road through the base of the handbrake lever.

Can anyone post a picture of what should be in its place?

I've seen boots for sale, do these fit from underneath the cab floor? Or do the slide down the lever and just sit between the carpet and floor?

Trying to seal all unwanted air into my bus!

    Thanks

    Sam

  2. That's the ventilation for the gas bottle, it's supposed to be like that.

  6. What year is your van? They fit from the top, so you’ll have to disconnect stuff from the upper end.

  8. Has your floor mat got lips that fit around the base of the handbrake lever? If so, you don’t need the boot. If you can see the floor, need to fit a front belly pan!

  10. What does your floor mat look like around the handbrake lever?

I cut out a piece of butyl pond liner and put a keyhole slot in it for the lever.
So I could just slide it on at floor level.
