My son’s journey home via a tree last night. A lesson learned about driving too fast I hope, luckily at the cost of only a mass of bruises. Looking for a replacement! What can I get for about £5k that’s economical on petrol, reliable, and not totally hideous?
Glad he’s ok . Weird how cars seem to find a tree . Oh well as you say a lesson learnt .. Spose insurance will rise too . Just buy something cheaper , plenty of decent cars out there for a couple of grand .
Lucky lad, went around with Mrs C to her friends house yesterday. Her niece did that this week but didn't walk away.
Blimey, nasty shock for both of you. Lucky that he was ok. Sorry about your friends niece @crossy2112 @Kkkaty how about a Skoda or a rover like @Bernard Fishtrousers
That’s terrible. Fatal? Really hope not... I must admit after the “talking to” I was overwhelmed with What Might Have Been horrors. He is lucky indeed, just hope it makes home a better driver. And yes it struck me that a few years ago before all the safety features came in, he wouldn’t have walked away. Crumple zones, air bags etc are amazing. He broke the inertia reel on the seatbelt. You shd see the burns and bruises the belt left on his hips and neck.
If it’s your £5k, then use this incident as a reason to put him in a Volvo. Something like this, 1 lady owner, full service history, don’t worry about the mileage, if you service the cam belt, It’ll do 250k https://www.desperateseller.co.uk/cars-for-sale/advert/53760689/116699/56 Edit; short MOT on this, but you’ll find similar with a long MOT.
Ooh, I seriously like that. If I lived a bit closer to Cambs I might even take a look. Does that mean I’m “old” though?
