Bonds primer + zinc

  1. Hi all,
Would this stuff survive on the outer casing of heat exchangers?
    Cheers all

Is that Bonda Primer? Excellent stuff but hard to get hold of and I’m told they’ve been taken over by some other unknown brand and could be lost forever.

I used it on my HEx and a top coat of grey paint, all pretty thin. It’s survived the 20 minute cam burn stage ok, not quite sure about full operating temperatures yet but don’t think there will be a problem.

Didn’t use it on the headers though, used VHT paint for that.

  3. Thanks for the info, I'll give it a go. I just realized we're quite close I'm just on the north side of the rugby stadium

I usually do my heat exchangers in grey stonechip.
The outsides never get hot enough to cure VHT which washes off in the end.

For steel headers, VHT or simply rust.
