Engine ~ rebuild or buy new?!!? 1641cc / 1776cc?

  1. Never ceases to amaze me how differently the rules on historic vehicles have been implemented in different EU countries. Am I right in saying that in France the vehicle must be unmodified in all respects? I think that's true in Belgium anyway.

    It’s only the British that think the same rules apply all over Europe, hence the desire to leave - possibly.

    My bus has modified suspension and power steering and the mods were noted on the CT (MOT), it passed but strictly speaking it should not be altered from the original specification.

  3. So much for bendy bananas eh? I don't think we realize how open to interpretation these directives ate, the Spanish, I believe, also require originality.

  7. nell john here mate i just picked me new 1776 up from the vw engine company today im running same as you engle 110 came 044 big heads also full flow oil system dont know where to put oil cooler if ya got any ideas let me know mate im running kadron twin 40 s and electronic fuel pump and drilled rocker covers so engine breaths

    Keeps my 1641 cool at 65mph...No fan.

    your pictures are well good was looking under van today after painting engine bay hammerite white and trying to work out best place for 72 plate cooler with fan after seeing your pictures i got a lot better idea thanks john and jude
