Any idea how to join this wire ???

  1. The 12v feed to my fridge has come adrift, It was originally crimped it seems in a brass connector. There is no way I can get it back on securely. It wont solder to the prong sticking out.

    Any ideas please ?

It obviously gets hot so something that wont melt would be useful :)

  2. was going to say solder but if you think it gets that hot then another crimp should do it. are you sure thats the 12v feed?

  3. Yes mate it works on 240v. I have just used the terminals out of a terminal block with the plastic removed and then covered them in heat shrink. The Black stuff ! We will see. It seems to work as its now drawing current, wait and see if it bursts into flames !!

  4. Yeah terminal block is a good idea

  5. We will see how good later lol

The heat shrink will keep going soft and fall apart on sharp edges.
But basically the idea of a naked bit of connector block is a good one.
That or a proper crimp of course

  7. I'd make off those ends properly on the flex then clean the cable ends to what looks like Pyro?? Cable looks burnt? Possible poor connection?? Crimp then heat shrink
