Only just. 69 miles and then I got the train to avoid the really hilly bit near to where I'm staying in deepest darkest Wales. Spent the last two hours at the local minor injuries unit as I picked up the wrong muscle rub - allergic to nsaids that I put on my chest and legs last night. Otherwise I'm okay back to the farm and no signal. Louey
Well done that man - did 20 miles on mi mountain bike last week and nearly croaked !! Llanbister you say ?? Think I had an accident there in a previous life racing enduros .. (Late 80`s - Welsh 2 day ??) There's a humpty-back bridge and the whole village turns out to watch riders passing through and jumping the bridge , problem was when I 'got air' the local Herbert decided to pull out of the throng on his AR50 right where I landed . Didn't end well , I finished the day but with a very twisted bike and some broken ribs , he got nicked by the elderly local copper who came over , took me to one side and said he'd seen everything and I wasn't to blame "so get on your way boyo" . I like old school coppers
Cheers everyone. I didn't have ANY beer!!! I had so much acid reflux and stomach pain that I couldn't face a beer. I managed a bath and slept. I did have a beer last night and promptly fell asleep at about 5pm. Went to the Centre for Alternative Technology today and I ache just walking around - god knows what I'll be like on the 100 mile ride. The CAT is a great and interesting place.
I think I'm a few miles from there, some really windy bits of road - I do love it around here. Great to be away from all of the tech that takes over our lives.
Just got back home and nearly had a heart attack! The camper wasn't on the drive, then I remembered it's at the welders, DOH! *But phew!! Louey
I'm not quite that old I reckon it is the adapting to being away from civilisation *I'm back in the swing of things - washing machine going full pelt, police sirens, kids on motorbikes drowning out the quiet and glued to social media Louey
