It just does. Clears the hatch by about 15mm. It was a 1700 originally and the airfilter stand was chopped off before we bought it.

Drove back from Herne Bay.
Got to the top of Reigate Hill on the M25 going west at 56mph on the GPS.

Stopped off at NT Uppark for tuna jacket potatoes for lunch.

When we got back ..

Shortened the threaded section on one of the rose joints on the throttle pedal, as it was a bit too high off the carpet at WOT.


Started treating rust patches under the tailgate seal.

Stripped down the old alternator to confirm the front bearing had been fried with all the rattling and messing with rubbing pulleys.

 

Cut and polished the roof

 

Dug it out of the drive for a run to our VW club meeting in Carlisle.

 

Took her to work, went shopping and filled her up with fuel...

 

Unwrapped a parcel for her.
A fuel grade pipe for the oil breather I ordered , without actually realising from China, took 2 months to get here.

 

Small turnout at the club meeting last night.

 

Should have listened to @Ermintrude....spent the morning having rust and a bit of sandpaper from the dremel removed from my eye. Next time goggles!

I noticed nobody wanted to park too close to that splitty with no suspension abandoned in the carpark.

I'm thinking..............some kind of clip on platform, or for towing something that has to remain steady in a straight line, ploughing, you use it for ploughing.

 

Carrying a Scooter? Or bikes?
