I’ve been trying to sort this out for a few days now. Local Post Office gave me the old form, which confused things for a while. Printed this new form out but I can’t find any information on where to send it! Anyone know where to post it off to? Cheers Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
This is something I can help you with as I’ve only just done it, you tick the relevant box on the back of the V112 take it to the counter along with the tax reminder form, the counter clerk just looks at the v112 checking that it’s signed and then stamps the tax renewal form job done, the post office don’t even send the v112 off, next year your renewal will come already updated as MOT exempt and tax exempt
Ok. Thanks for that! Now the thing is that i’ve already taxed it on-line and there is no V112 version online Heading in to the Post Office now just to chance it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I was told to keep the signed v112 form as it is a declaration that your van passes the criteria and is MOT exempt
Nothing about MOT jumped out at me when I taxed on-line, but i wasn’t looking for it as found out about the V112 after taxing. I assumed it was automatically declared MOT exempt because of the age. Long queue in the PO so i’ll try over the counter next time i’m in town. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The online taxation and MOT exemption declaration relies on the vehicle having Historic Vehicle class.
I taxed mine online yesterday (Historic) and didn’t get the MOT Exempt question. Didn’t worry me as I wasn’t going to tick “Yes” anyway but I was surprised it didn’t ask?
I`ve printed the form out and carry it in the van until the tax is due for renewal . Read somewhere that`s ok
Think that’s my best option too. Once the vehicle is Taxed there doesn’t seem to be a retrospective way to make MOT exempt - other than cancelling the taxation and resubmitting with the V112 form Mine was still on last year’s MOT when i taxed. Typically poor administration of what should be a simple procedure. I think, legally speaking, are asses are covered Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It says on the form "If your vehicle is exempt from MoT testing you will need to fill in this form and produce it when you tax your vehicle at a Post Office". That impies that you don't need the form if you're not using a Post Office.
