Now that the oil bath filter has been cleaned up and oil put in, (and the valve clearances/rocker rover gaskets/oil change). Runs much better now but carb is noticeably cold with condensation etc. I'm looking at getting the missing "de-ice" bits put back in ... Think they're gone because it was a Cali import? Anyhoo, if anyone would like to "draw" the relevant bits on the attached photo please feel free ........ It's a late oil bath, so as far as I understand it, it has a springy doo-dad to the right hand side out of shot which is a wax thermostat?? I have an idea what IS missing but TLB hive mind always a good thing PS ... Wires lying about to the left soon to go as they're a lazy by product of a change from US spec so that the reversing lights are now indicators ... and the tube with a whitish sleeve on it goes forward to the brake servo I think.
A good start would be to get your warm-air pickup on the air filter connected. At the moment, the hose isn't going anywhere.
That's the fat one with a scrag end and a clip left on the filter right? I think there needs to be a second narrower tube from the spigot higher up on the filter, but unclear as to where the other end of that goes .... and I'm assuming also that the sprung widget to the right, out of shot, is the thermostat, in which case no cable to a stat somewhere else?
Centre piece ... One of these: (this one is advertised for a bug but I guess it's going to be the same for any type 1?)
Right so ... 1) Fat heat take off between the lower big opening on the oil bath and ...... 2) 1600 centre piece as per the photo 3) exhaust for the heat risers ... One piece connected to both? or two, one for each? 4) thin tube from left upper spigot on oil bath filter to .......? 5) Owt else? 6) you got the lot? 7) "Aaarrhh Moooch?!"
1) through third round hole in tinware and to a" stove pipe" item 16 lower right, or just point hose at No2 head. 3) some exhausts already will have flanges welded under left and right im the region of 8 but need cutting / drilling to connect holes in flanges to the exhaust. take a picture inder the tim you may be lucky. Single or twin quiet packs or anything with a 4 into 1 collector may have flanges on the header. Stock of course does.. 4) through adapter pipes to the fuel tank breather ..
It’s where we used to go on a Saturday after working at the factory all week, we’d drink pints of Double diamond and the girls would drink baby cham,
Do these photos tell you anything useful? (apart from that it wants a clean) (not exactly "connected" is it: .......) ... and what's this at the back behind the oil bath stand?
You appear to have blanking plates over the exhaust hot air riser connections. Could take them off and connect them to the (new) manifold. You're also missing one, possibly two, bits of tin (and seals) that go around the riser connection (pic 1). The riser pipe for the hot air pickup has likely been blanked off. There should be a big hole under that black plate in pic 2.
