True, but they are certainly two extremely good sides.

BBC nearly get it right, no Clive 'won a World Cup' Woodward, but sadly kept John 'every other word is England' Inverdale.

I think these two plus Ireland will be a handful in the World Cup....other than Enzed I'm not seeing anyone else stronger.

BBC always win the battle of the pundits for me, but I take your point about JI.

It's the camera phone that has the higher risk factor in this instance.

Don't sweat it, there are two World Cup warm ups in the summer where you will drill Wales.

As a small ex wing I have to correct this. The game can be tough and as Moons puts it ‘ the extra’s’ have always been a part of the lower league games. However, It seldom filtered off the pitch into the clubhouse thankfully, because i was so small I’d be dead by now!

  14. I'd have to disagree there. Having gone to a sink estate school in Newport, with both Jeff Squire and Colin Smart teaching there at the same time, it was a regular occurence for rugby clubs to rampage through the city on nights out, all wearing their club ties as they went. It tends to get treated as "high-jinks', whereas football supporters would be hauled through the courts and jailed.
I guarantee you that Cardiff and Newport city centre will be carnage tonight.....

I can honestly say I have never witnessed any of this where I live. I know the port and Stilton nights get a bit weird, but that’s usually confined to the club grounds. I’m not saying it doesn’t go on, but I haven’t witnessed it.

  16. I hope not. My daughter is in Cardiff in her England shirt. She always does, and has never had any problems.

Rugby players can on occasion be utter knobs on a night out, but from my experience they tend to do stupid stuff like superglue each other's Arse cheeks together. Players and supporters are different entities.

I can't comment on football other than no rugby supporter to my knowledge has been killed by the opposition deliberately or by accident, or had life changing injuries caused by simply wearing the wrong supporters shirt.

England today, and for a while under Eddie Jones, have brought an edge to their game...some palatable, some less so....but they've had that done to them for decades also.

From my experience, England teams that have players of limited talent but are hard and mix it about (Wade Dooley, Skinner etc) don't win much and never scare the opposition for long. England teams with hard guys that can play are far more serious propositions.

Edited to add as I was quite damming on football...there are thousands of games played up and down the country every weekend, watched by millions of people that pass by with loads of enthusiasm and commitment and no incident.

Where is the festival? It's usually at Lichfield but since the governing body screwed the women's section I've it might not be.
