Hi All , I'm just about ready to fit my new master cylinder to my 73 singlecab. I've purchased new reservoirs and pipework to fit between them. Is there a sequence to fitting all these to make it easier to fit ? Also is it best to bleed the master cylinder before fitting if so how would I do this? Many thx.
I'd just follow your nose. No particular order of pipes. Worth trying to get some fluid into the m/c with a syringe.
If helps I removed all connection points just to check there was no blockages etc and guess what there was a pvc seal behind one of the bungs on new M/c our new pipe between upper and lower was different so just used the ends and new clips on old pipe.
Is the 73 different to the non servo 74? If it isn't, the reservoir sits above the mc, there's no benefit in bleeding it. I recall adjusting the connector to the pedal before connecting the brake lines as it avoided pumping the pedal and pressuring the system.
I'll check that just to make sure. I've been unable to get the plastic clamps for the pipe there not available and I can't use the old ones so may have to use jubilee clips.
Oh...weird, mines later but no servo (which I suspect makes my answer on the pedal rod length null also) Is yours an import van?
